Don’t Worry While On Vacation By Getting Travel Insurance
Your travel health insurance may have an eligibility requirement. This requirement could be concerning anything from whether you are actually traveling in the United States, or if you are what state you intend to travel to.
It’s interesting that in reading over a travel insurance policy, that they would state that in case you are traveling outside the country, that you must spend at least 24 hours or more away from your home. The states coverage is merely based on what state you live in, not which state you are traveling to, so look closely at those papers before you decide to sign and pay. The best piece of advice would be to ask the rep while you are on the phone. Always call with a list of questions, and just make sure to clarify which state is covered.
Also be aware who among your family will be covered under the adventure travel insurance plan. Typically, your spouse and children will be covered, but with all the loopholes it doesnt hurt to ask. In some cases, when you have an adopted child provided that they are under the age of 19 they will include them to your policy. If this is your second marriage, and your spouse had children by another individual they may be covered as well.
The insurance company would sometimes ask questions regarding the child if they are older but generally it is simply for the reason that they want to know if the child is unable to care for themselves. If this child is enrolled prior to age 19 and is mentally retarded, they may be eligible to be on your travel policy. Inquire about physical disability as they may be covered as well. What they normally just ask of you would be a student id or other forms of identification that would confirm their student status. This is the same whether you want backpacking travel insurance or any other type.
